Those who follow the work of Robin Williamson cannot deny the brightness and strength of his songs backed up only with the acoustic guitar as accompaniment .This style was precisely the thread of a concept album suggested by the spanish producer Josep Ramon Jové.
"Just like the river and other songs with guitar" began to take shape when during the summer of 2007 when Josep Ramon Jové ( manager of the Incredible String Band) offered the chance to make that long-awaited album, for his Quadrant Records label.
This new album was recorded on 14, 15 and 16 December 2007 Crazy House, a quiet studio located in the spanish countriside. The sessions were v Twelve songs in total were chosen, ranging from newly minted titles compositive updated revisions very old songs ( "Down in Cupid's Garden," "Matt Groves and Lady Barnard") along with the revisited "Through the horned clouds" & "The Man In The Van", and two wonderful covers: "Absolutely Sweet Marie" (Dylan) and "Wild Horses" (Jagger&Richards). This pair of jewels and all of the above, achieved an intimate collection overwhelming the great albums in the history of this genre. Robin sings, plays acoustic guitar, bass drum, harp and also the organ on "Song For Bina", a psychedelic track that closes the album
It should be noted, Quadrant also decided to issue a 180 gr। vinyl edition and 500 copies (limited edition), surely a delight for collectors, and genuine fans of vinyl albums.
