Loreena McKennitt Live in Buenos Aires, 2013 ,October 24 & 25.

And  the dream of many of us was finally fulfilled ... Loreena McKennitt visited Argentina as part of her "First South American Tour" in over 30 years of careering ... For those who were excited and vibrated with Loreena McKennitt passing through Buenos Aires ...

I am glad to share with you this review written specially for "Celtic Sprite" by a close folk harpist friend of mine, Yohi Riveros Salinas. (Photos are courtesy of  Yohi )

While approaching to the Gran Rex Theatre in Buenos Aires, a special  exaltation of an awaiting audience could be perceived , in my case I had been expecting this moment for 13 years, Lights out, time table 21:30 AM , between darkness, the figure of a slender red haired, Loreena Mc Kennitt herself on scene!.

Opening the concert with " She Moved through the Fair " , backed up by 6 musicians on stage,  providing an undeniable warmth on the whole ambience . A really austere staging , the lights dim , our connection is transmitted to their music and even with an english/spanish interpreter , to convey their thoughts to the general public .

Entitling her show as " A Musical Journey " , Loreena actually tested her privileged voice , singing for almost 2 hours 30 ' without pause , playing on varied instruments with a bit shame for not speaking Spanish , expressing her desire to return to our country.

What else I can really say ? : a gorgeous " ARTIST " who asked the public  not to take pictures until her allowance, since Loreena says "it's hard to concentrate with so many camera flashes " .. It was in the performance of the joyous "Santiago" when she allowed us all to draw the pictures we wished , throughout the concert between silence to enjoy every note , burst into an ovation of a full house .

Visiting more than 15 scores, telling about her travels, bringing her stories to us, talking about "Caravanserai" , which leads to the Celtic world , saying that one hour before the concert was taking tango lessons in Buenos Aires

She shared with us her tours and places, and museums she visited in our local city and conveying in her giggles that simplicity that makes her so special .

Thus concluding her concert, at the request of a theater that standing ovation , she rendered two codas . Playing first " Tango to Evora " , and finally concluding with "Dante 's Prayer" .Certainly far from the nowadays musical commercial styles on this trip she led us it was the Musical Quality , Simplicity and Humility of the great , a journey that began personally since I was 15 , now having had the privilege of not only interchanging a few words with her but attending to her concert too!, as I said , she was my inspiration , in this concert I was able to reconnect with that way she taught to me and still continues with the teach.May we have the opportunity to enjoy
once again this unique artist ....
